We had a huge tropical storm with hints of a hurricane over the weekend down here in Asunción. According to the Weather Service, the eye of the storm passed through the city on Saturday at around 7:30 pm with 95 MPH winds. An hour later and when the power service came back up I went outside and found this big ol’ tree ripped from its roots.
Luckily nobody got hurt. Others however, weren’t that lucky. According to Sunday’s newspaper, several people got injured and some even killed because of falling trees or in some cases, big antennas (like cell towers, radios, etc). Several buildings downtown were also damaged because of the storm.
Rain season hasn’t even started yet and the sky is falling already! At least last season we had to wait until January to see our streets being decorated with people and floating cars, but we are in the middle of freaking October for Pete’s sake! Now, Global Warming, don’t take this the wrong way, but we both know this can only mean one thing: you are suffering from premature ejaculation. So go get some treatment and leave us the fuck alone. Thank you.
